On the 16th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, New Yorkers are reminded by the generosity and kindness of others that helped Lower Manhattan rise from the ashes.  Now, in light of the devastation from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, ABNY has outlined three ways to help others in their great time of need:

  1.  Donate Directly: There are a number of worthy organizations providing direct and immediate care and shelter including relief efforts. The Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City is also coordinating contributions and is asking for donations.
  2. Volunteer or Contribute Goods: The National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD) is collecting information on individuals and organizations that are willing to volunteer or donate goods. The Red Cross is continually asking for blood donations and you can schedule a same day donation here
  3. Donate through ABNY: The ABNY Foundation has established a “From New York with Love” fund accepting contributions of any size, which will be distributed to the following organizations
    •  Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund - Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner has established a fund that will be administered through the Great Houston Community Foundation

    • Catholic Charities – Working with our partners Catholic Charities of New York who provided critical services to New Yorkers after Superstorm Sandy to assist the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston to provide food, clothing, shelter and services to victims from all religious backgrounds.
